The New Mexico State Bar Foundation’s Legal Resources for the Elderly Program is Hosting a Free In-Person Legal Workshop and Clinic for New Mexico Residents in Alamogordo on May 9
Alamogordo, N.M., April 4, 2024 — The New Mexico State Bar Foundation’s Legal Resources for the Elderly Program (LREP) will be hosting a free in-person legal workshop and Power of Attorney Clinic for New Mexico residents on May 9 in Alamogordo, New Mexico at the Alamo Senior Center.
Located at 2201 Puerto Rico Ave., Alamogordo, N.M. 88310, the workshop and Power of Attorney Clinic will start at 10 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. (MT). The legal workshop, featuring a presentation by an LREP attorney, will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. (MT) and will cover Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives, probate, estate planning, Transfer on Death Deeds and Medicaid and Long-Term Care.
The workshop will be followed by the Power of Attorney Clinic from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (MT). The Power of Attorney Clinic, which will cover preparation of Powers of Attorney and Advance Health Care Directives, does require advance registration. Once registered, an attorney will be available to prepare and execute the necessary documents for seniors 55 and older.
Produced in collaboration with the New Mexico Aging & Long Term Services Department, the in-person workshop and Power of Attorney Clinic serve as an effective opportunity to begin planning for the future and understand your options for yourself and in providing care to your family and relatives.
To register for the in-person Power of attorney Clinic, New Mexico residents can call 1-800-876-6657 or 505-797-6005 and provide their first and last name and email address. Interested New Mexican residents who are unable to attend at that time may have their questions answered by an attorney through the LREP Helpline, which New Mexican residents at 1-800-876-6657 or 505-797-6005.
