About the Solo and Small Firm Section

The Solo and Small Firm (SSF) Section is a forum for members working to grow our practices, increase our knowledge and competency, and create a community of small firm attorneys across substantive law practices. Our section produces learning events focused on professional best practices, well-being, and financial and career-based results. We host CLE programs and roundtables, in-person and virtual gatherings, and an active listserv for members to ask questions or provide referrals. We are the home for lawyers in a small firm and those exploring their options as solo or small-firm
attorneys. We also welcome non-attorney associate members who share our concerns and work in related areas to provide knowledge and skills that help members reach their goals.

The general purposes of the Solo and Small Firm Section are:

A. To provide a forum for the discussion of problems of common interest to solo and small firm practitioners;
B. To advance the quality of legal services provided by solo and small firm practitioners;
C. To provide a forum for the creation, discussion, advancement, and implementation of ideas to accomplish the foregoing purposes;
D. To sponsor CLE programs for solo and small firm practitioners; and
E. To provide a professional support network for solo and small firm practitioners
