About the Public Law Section

The State Bar of New Mexico Public Law Section is an organization whose members are interested in issues concerning the representation of, or the appearance before, governmental entities and public officials. Our purposes are to provide a forum for the discussion of public law issues and to advance the professional interests and competency of attorneys who represent, or appear before, governmental entities and public officials.

Want to join the Public Law Section? You have two ways of doing so!

1. Still need pay your licensing fees? Simply check the Public Law Section when completing your Licensing and Renewal forms. Join as many sections as you’d like while you are there!
2.  Already paid your dues for the year? Login to your Member Dashboard (see top of screen). Navigate to ‘My Groups’ and click ‘Join Section/Voluntary Bars’. Select Public Law Section and to pay the dues and join. You can join any section or voluntary bar at any time.

Board Meetings

The Board of Directors of the Public Law Section meets monthly on the third Wednesday of the month. For further information on the next Board meeting, email the Section Chair, Ken Swain, at ken.swain@dot.nm.gov.
